SALARY RANGE:               $20 - 26 per hour

SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Supervisor, the Training Specialist will perform duties and responsibilities outlined below, as well as other duties as assigned.

NOTE: Performance reviews are conducted annually upon the anniversary of your hire date. Raises and promotions are based on merit, (work performance, work ethics, attendance, etc.) which will be at the discretion of the Executive and Program Directors. Raises are not guaranteed upon review.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will update and arrange company training programs for clerical, supervisory, technical and lower-level personnel. This position has no direct decision-making but works directly with management when implementing and updating training programs and protocols

  • Will attend quarterly county meetings to stay abreast with all training requirements, regulations, and updates

  • Researches and assists with planning and coordinating training programs for all levels of staff

  • Assesses several training elements and alternatives, which involve research

  • Assists with the initial draft material for new training programs; reviews, evaluates and modifies existing and proposed programs with oversight from supervisor or management; recommends appropriate changes

  • Evaluates training program qualification tests and helps to determine eligibility of prospective attendees.

  • Contacts attendees and department representatives about training programs, training opportunities, and any other training communications

  • Prepares and distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids

  • Organizes and distributes company monthly newsletter

  • Organizes and manages the disaster and emergency sheds, trainings, and informational materials

  • Will be thoroughly versed in the County and State regulations and will have a working knowledge of all such standards and requirements that would apply, as much as applicable

  • Collaborates with the Program Director to conduct presentations for new implementation of training for Program Staff

  • Conducts additional presentations and facilitates training when/if necessary.

  •  Any other tasks assigned by the Administrative Supervisor or Directors

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ï‚· Must be able to multi-task in a stressful environment, in a professional, calm and respectful manner.

  • ï‚· Must type a minimum of 45 words per minute.

  • Must be able to stay organized and aware of all staff training requirements and timelines

  • ï‚· Must possess advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel, Canva and Google Suite.

  • Must be able to learn and apply new skills and knowledge with or without routine training.

  • FEMA and/or OSHA training and knowledge recommended.

  • Develops a system that provides access to specific training completion information, and ability to retrieve and deliver such information.

  • Works well with others, possesses a high degree of interpersonal skills, and is able to create a working relationship with external vendors.

  • Sets high personal standards for consistent above average performance.

  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and addressing staff in a group setting and facilitating trainings.

  • Must be comfortable in assisting others with technical issues and computer tasks

  • Must have the ability to deal with stressful situations in a calm manner.

  • Must be mature with sound judgement, and possess leadership capability.

  • Must be able to work as a team to complete complicated, time sensitive goals.

  • Must be free of alcohol and/or drugs on a daily basis.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training experience recommended. At least two years of college education recommended; preferably in administration or business.
